(David) Crowder has made another great record. Powerful lyrics. Catchy music. Quirky sounds. I don't really consider myself a Crowder fan necessarily, but I have a great appreciation for what that band is putting out there.

If I had to pick a favorite from the "Neon Steeple" album, "Come As You Are" might just be the one.

Songs about redemption, grace, mercy, acceptance, and inviting the lost back into God's family are especially powerful for me. That message is so important. I don't know about you, but I definitely see myself in the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). BOTH sons' stories resonate with me.

Any time we can retell God's story of welcoming outsiders and redeeming the lost, we should. There are far too many religious people spreading hatred and slamming doors in the face of prodigals and those who are hurting. But, God is calling his children back home. And when His lost sons and daughters return, celebration erupts. Heaven rejoices.

I recorded this simple version of "Come As You Are" because I absolutely love the call to the hurting and lonely in this song. I hope you like it.

"'...let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!'"
