Fortress - Lead Me (All I Want is You)

"Jesus replied, 'Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.'” - John 4:13-14 NLT

TRACK 3: "Lead Me (All I Want is You)" [LYRICS]

It wasn't my original intent with this project, but the "Fortress" EP takes you on a journey, from track one to track four, closer to the heart of God. If you listen in order, you should be able to pretty easily follow along with where the songs are going.

I read once that a great worship leader takes those they are leading TO somewhere spiritually (always, in some way, closer to Jesus). They aren't just singing nice songs that flow well from one to another. There is a destination. There is a journey. As a shepherd leads his beloved sheep, so a great minister of music leads God's people.

With this third track from "Fortress" the journey comes to a pause for a moment. I find that the closer I get to Jesus there are few words that seem appropriate to speak or sing. Which is why there seemed to be nothing to say in this particular song, except "all I want is you!"

"All I want is you" is a simple heart cry born out of a personal revelation that only Jesus can satisfy the true desires of our hearts.

Jesus spoke (actually, he shouted) the promise of the Holy Spirit in John 7:37-38, saying that if we thirst, and come to Him, we will experience the living water that flows from His heart! Whew!

I love these simple yet profound truths that God reveals to us when we worship.

And when we allow Jesus to lead us in worship, He has all kinds of good things hidden for us. We just have to follow as sheep follow a good shepherd.

My hope is that "Lead Me (All I Want is You)" will help you connect more deeply with your Good Shepherd. And there, drink profoundly of His unending love.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
