Rest In Me [Original Song]

"Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life."  - Psalm 42:7-8

Rest is difficult. There are so many distractions. There is so much to do. From the moment we wake up there are notifications, and messages, and to-do lists, and emails, and work to be done. There are people who want our time. Everything and everyone seems to pull us in every direction.

Yet, our Heavenly Father is calling us close to Him, every day, to set ALL of that aside and rest in Him.

I suck at resting. My mind goes a bazillion miles per hour all day long. It is very challenging to sit quietly before God, turn my thoughts off, and listen.

But, the reward is great when we can learn to do this! Time with God is so rich and good.

As I have been practicing rest (however inconsistently), God has been revealing his goodness and kindness. This original song, "Rest In Me", came from spending time with God and listening to His voice.

He whispers, calling us to come. To lay everything down. To allow Him to heal us and set us free. To be encouraged. To be made whole. To experience how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.

    I have found that sitting still quietly and listening to God speak is a difficult process. But I have also learned it is the most productive. When I am in a state of not knowing what to do or where to turn, I go to .... "Be still and know that I am God" It is my go to answer...Have a beautiful day, Kurt. :)
